Addiction is a disease that is categorized by a psychological, physical and social deterioration of our self-image. Brought about by today's tough societal stressors and traumatic life experiences. This disease is defined by the inherent lack of control over substances, alcohol, and many behavioural addictions. Classified in various 12 step fellowships as an incurable disease that requires a complete personality change.
Addiction leads to a hopeless end
In recovery there is endless hope.

Addiction doesn't just affect the addict it is a family disease that effects everyone connected to the addict. Very often the addict seeks recovery and their family don't understand what the addict is going through. It is of utmost importance that the entire system surrounding the addict is treated. Therapy for family and significant other is as important as treating the addict as this will create a much better environment for sustained recovery. I as an addictions counsellor has the multi-faceted task of treating the entire system effect by the disease.

"I was struggling with a lot of anxiety and overload from general life and lots of changes. I needed a way of addressing these issues. Craig helped me to do this by allowing me to talk through these things and coached me through arriving at my own conclusions. There is a far greater sense of accomplishment in being able to solve your own problems than in having someone tell you what to do and Craig is great at facilitating this kind of self-help.
